ITK makes Clarkson appear as a shrinking violet. I wonder if being overweight is classed as having a 'warped and distorted body'? (checks mirror) ...oops...yes it must! My body would have been enough to give the Elephant Man a newly found confidence.

The post just confirms one thing - that regular posters can say what they wish on this site, however unacceptable in the real world.

It reduces a genuinely interesting and varied board to a much lower level.

It would seem that the 'shock/of course I didn't mean it/did I?' syndrome is alive and well here.

And that JK is happy to allow it.

I said something similar myself on the thread concerned.
While he can easily offend,it does stimulate some of the better exchanges on here.Facts are nothing if you're not entertained.

That's not exactly true. I've had several posts removed or disallowed. Usually ones reacting strongly to one or other of ITK's reactionary statements or views. F'rinstance he claimed something in particular should be done to a certain class of people. His original inflammatory words stood. Mine were removed {because they were "inflammotory"... you go figure...}.

So while in some ways the thrust of your claim is true, I'd suggest you substitute the word "regular" for "certain".

I'd certainly never claim that I think this board is well moderated. But it's not my board and there's an end to it.

IA, the problem with many on here is they have their own preconceptions and refuse to listen to anything that challenges them.

Many reply to posts that were never made - they "think" they were made !

It IS absolutely ridiculous to compare quality athletes with people who have an impediment .... and to pretend otherwise is condescending in the extreme.

It also a clear sign of "how afraid" to challenge the accepted norm most people are.

Actually Daniel the fact that JK lets an unknown,unregistered poster make such a provocative statement as their first post says more for his hatred of censorship,and his belief in free speech than anything else.

Hey ITK everything you say does have a ring of truth my ex girlfriend Charlotte had trials for the Paralypics but sadly not good enough at time trails she has cerebal palsy. Like most suffers of the dreadful disability do have have twisted bodies, but people who join the army have who do the paralypics got in that position themselves by killing Arabs.

ITK's post has been circulated on a few USA sites - Brooklyn, Idaho and Maine, those that I saw.

Our Constitution, in about 13 areas, was violated - it is said.

Your (or rather Oliver Wendell Holme's 1919) analogy certainly doesn't even begin to approach validity when it comes to merely offensive speech.

I found what ITK said to be offensive - oh didums. Actually I laughed, but maybe that's because I've been watching Rik Mayell's 'The New Statesman' on DVD.

It's not as if we're all going to rush out and demand that the disabled be put to death at birth or something is it?

The 'shouting fire' analogy is increasingly being used by progressive 'liberal' fascists to silence any free and rational debate on matters that 'offend' them (or rather where the economic and psychological interests of the 'liberal' white uppper middle class would be threatend by free speech), even when there quite literally is a fire raging (the London riots and the treatment of David Starkey for being honest).
