... not only that but a further £200,000 calling Directory Enquiries !!

I wonder how much money was wasted calling the wife ?
..... the local taxi firm ?
..... or the Chinese takeaway ?

Remember these figures when they tell you that the government's cuts will lead to more crime and less police. They shouldn't - as HM Inspector of Constabulary pointed out ... they could cut 12% without affecting mainline services at all.
