What a shame, eh.
I see the arrested include chief reporter John Kay. Last time he was arrested was for murdering his wife. Bit of background info on all that from Louis Barfe's blog

the conviction was for manslaughter..not murder.

However, I have a very BIG problem that the chief reporter on a tabloid is a man who drowned a woman in a bath.

those who disseminate the crap that passes for news in The Sun should at least be completely free of taint in any manner and certainly a newspaper that preaches to others.

When did you say that Sun On Sunday was coming ITK?

Well, veritas, according to my friends at Popbitch (and who am I to argue?) Ex-Screws Of The World showbiz man Dan Wootton is apparently in the running to get his old job back. Or rather the showbiz editorship of the new Sun On Sunday.

So (not for the first time !!!!) it looks as if I was right again my old chum !!!!!

Good grief, I never knew this.

I always knew the tabloid press were the epitome of the word hypocrite, no wonder Murdoch's empire is so out of control.

Come now JK, I was one of the first downloaders , but strangely after seeing George Galloway discuss these issues on Sky News, coming across very well mind too, I'm going to dig it out again whilst I have my Chinese takeaway shortly!

I knew someone quite high up in Murdoch's empire, he is a relative of a friend. He was always quiet about his interaction with RM, but he did say one thing: he lets us get on with the job. Maybe that should be News International's epitaph.

my first job was running running a fashion shop aged 18.

I saw the owner..a the little old man who had an office the size of a wardrobe.

he owned a property empire worth a fortune.

he lectured me all about corporations and any large entity...that if the 'head of the fish' is rotting then it seeps down until the entire body is riddled.

(mind you to get the job I had to see his phrenologist as all employees did...who pronounced me a wonder and my pal who went at the same time as a 'child of the devil'...right on both accounts )

I believe if News Corp launched a defacto NoTW in the current atmosphere it would be financial suicide.

quote from the Independent :

"Kay, who is known for having excellent contacts in high places, is regarded as a model Sun reporter."

and therein lies the problem.

at the risk of kicking a man when he is down..his defense in drowning a woman in the bath was it was caused by a "brain storm".

I assume the jury and judge got it right. But should a man subject to such a lethal brainstorm be in a position to affect other's lives?.

Where was this compassion amongst News Ltd staff as they set out to destroy Gary Glitter and make his every living ,moment hell years after he served his sentence?

(One of those arrested once had me fired as a 'contributor' (ie: do twice the work at half the price) on a lie..20 years ago. I wish him well..he'll need it... the arrogant c*nt.

No - it would rapidly become the biggest selling Sunday in Britain.

You may be obsessed with Leveson veritas (and indeed, JK is !) but the vast majority of the British public couldn't give a hoot (in fact if you did a straw poll now I doubt that 5% of the public would even know what the Leveson enquiry was all about !)

BUT ... millions of Britains have not had a salacious Sunday for weeks now, and are going without their weekly wank !

not if News Corp launched it.

The Independent thinks as I do.

Rupert should sell up. His days of influencing govt policy via tabloids is over.

You are correct...the vast public do not follow Leveson etc but the proles don't run things or ever have.

The Sun arrests are all over the news at the moment tho, nothing to do with Leveson.

You're forgetting one massive thing here - The Rule Of The Media Law the UK has been under is basically "Prison Law". In Prisons, murdering ADULTS is fine. Anything - ANYTHING - involving kiddiewinks is "worse than" an (any?) offence involving kids. So drowning your wife in the bath is fair game - lucky for Kay he didn't have any kids to drown when he had his forgiven "moment of madness", otherwise he too might have been deemed "unforgiven". So - Spector (and Kay!): Yes; Glitter (and any others): No. Puts another slant on Alex Jones' "Prison Planet" does it not?
I do think though that the information of John Kay's past should be circulated as widely as possibly so that his avid customers can make up their own minds whether or not they want a woman killer dictating to them daily what is right and wrong, let's see if we can really destroy the bastards life and career and he does so many others.

The results of my straw poll are in ...

We took a representative sample (thats ITK, Mrs ITK, the woman next door and her gardener), and asked the following questions -

1. Do you know what the Leveson Inquiry is ?

75% (thats all except ITK) looked blank and said "No".

2. Do you know where the Leveson Inquiry is ?

All 100% right on this one ... they all agreed it was on the TV News nightly (somewhere between "we're all gonna freeze to death in the Siberians blasts" and "have England got a new manager yet?")

3. Do you think the Leveson Inquiry is a good idea or would you rather have another blue cross day at Debenhams?

All agreed they would rather have the blue cross day at Debenhams.
