Mirror Royal reporter - I always found him a gentleman and rather liked him. Only 71.

I re-call him in '96, nose pressed against the window glaring in at me at a lunch for Diana when I was the only media person on the inside and sat with Shane Warne at the table next to Diana.

The next time I met him was about 5 years ago when Charles was touring a property development in Sydney built by friends of mine. As Charles emerged from a reception with me following James was waiting in the media pen outside..he said "not you again..how the hell do you do it?"

Always found it odd he worked for the Mirror, he was hardly the typical Mirror reader's type, was he?
