TOPIC: Lord Lucan

Lord Lucan 12 Years, 2 Months ago
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-17076512

I'm surprised anyone cares any more but this 'mystery' appears to have no age limit.

The former detective, who now lives in Kent, said permission to pursue this lead was refused by the Metropolitan Police.

He said: "I was then later told, a few days later, discontinue the inquiry. You haven't got approval to continue."

"I think his [Lucan's] gambling fraternity friends spirited him out the country."

So the powers that be knew all the time. What a great shock!! Amazing what the police will or wont do given the right commands.

I never believed the suicide story..always been fascinated by Lucan as I was working in Kings Road at the time and the place was buzzing about the murder.

There was a retired detective who worked on the case that wrote a book saying Lucan first went to Goa for a few years before it got to hot for him.

Of course the police put the mockers on the case if they can't solve it.

people don't drive to the country and go out in thier boat and sink it..especially a Lucan..just shoot themselves.

All police ferces have "operational priorities" (that means what the Chief Cop tells them what to do - and he has to have the nod from the Police Authority).

Could be interesting when we have Police Commissioners (appointed by the public).

I was just watching this report. It never fails to amaze me the farce that TV goes through when supposedly 'disguising' an interviewee's identity. If you know the person, and want to to punish them for spilling the beans, it wouldn't take second to work out who it is. This time they showed the interiors of her house, showed enough of certain objects to reveal her relgious observations, showed her profile and let her voice go out naturally. Good luck dear! On other occasions broadcasters will distort the voice (no good when the subject has a thick accent that belongs to another region entirely) or, perhaps most laughably, they blur the face whilst preserving a clear view of everything else in a room and again letting the voice be recognised. If broadcasters need to hide an identity, for god's sake don't film the person at all. Use an actor!

Looking forward to this and I believe it sight unseen.

Even more after Lady Lucan's quite dotty theory that he threw himself into the propeller of a ferry so his body would be chopped up because of some weird tale about paying school fees!
