I think so - 1969 I think. Funnily enough, it seems to have been quite rife in that era, the sort of dirty raincoat style of nude pics. I was going through some old film magazines from the early 70s the other day - quite 'legit' things like Films & Filming and Photoplay - and I was surprised how much nudity was in each issue.

no it wasn't Murdoch's idea but the editor at the time.
Murdoch claims to be evry conservative (except when it comes to waging war...he's all for it) and was reputedly appaled at Page 3 until he saw the sales figures !
Apparently his mum Dame Murdoch thinks The Sun is a putrid tabloid as well.
