I've misjudged the Machaevelian machinations of Rupert (yes..rare for me)

The SOS indicates the involvement of senior management in the cover-up of illegality at News Corp...the SOS plans must have been there since the beginning. Ditch the troublesome title and simply replace it with a clone.

It also should show any News Corp employee that you will be thrown under the bus when required (including family).

Oh yes Veritas - well planned ahead surely.

Which is why I suggested the GARY GLITTER IS INNOCENT story for the Sun on Sunday front page... "we expose the criminals" - who happen to be ex News of the World employees (or, better, freelancers)... and hand evidence over to the cops (which is the best possible defence in case any naughty person tried to indict News Int for bribery of public officials abroad... "but we are as shocked as you and we have given you the proof to arrest the real crooks - not us, m'lud".

it would be a good story as the management couldn't give a stuff about the staff...and while they are at what about the Arthur C.Clarke beat-up..can't remember..Mirror or Sun?..but two hacks could never show their faces in Sri Lanka again..government was furious and took it as a racist insult.
