Football Query 12 Years, 1 Month ago
I don't know much about this particular sport, aside from it involves 22 overpaid yobbos kicking a bag of air around a well cut large lawn...but what is this business with sacking managers after a few weeks when they get a couple of bad results?

From what I can gather football is a business and as anyone whom is in business knows ..STABILITY is crucial.

Is the world of football ...especially Premier league football as crooked as it looks?

This Abramovich character I really don't like the smell of.

It's scapegoating FC. Look at Big Sam when he was sacked from Blackburn Rovers they are struggling to survive the relegation zone and look at his job at West Ham UTD huge difference they are favorites for automatic promotion. Mick Mccarthy sacking was a joke Wolves are a very poor side with lack of funds to buy good players, they still find it hard to fight in the league with a new manager. Abramovich wants to win the Champions League if they don't win that he will carry on sacking till they win that, it's a farce what he does.

Follow non-league football FC it is the complete opposite to league football the pitch is different, players play good steady football, no huge over paid wages, good for local community and entrance fee is cheap.

Only if the Chairman sells a player without the manager consent that's what Curbs did at West Ham.

Thanks Andrew. I might give that a miss.

Abramovich is a buffoon. You know that old cinematic montage test, when they showed the same man's expression and then cut to different images (happy, sad, scary, etc). Well he's like a living version - whatever happens on the pitch, win lose or draw, they cut to him and he has exactly the same stupid expression, half smile, half constipation. He doesn't seem to know anything about the game, and he's over-paid players so much they won't ever budge no matter how old they are and have egos that would tower over a skyscraper. He's making that club a laughing stock.

As Redknapp ran from Portsmouth to Spurs As surely he will run from Spurs to the England job if he is offered it. What is true is that clubs are putting themselves in the poorhouse by paying vastly inflated wages to the players. Some clubs are paying 120% of turnover in players wages alone. There are rumours that at least eight Premier League clubs are in danger and also a number of Championship clubs could go the way of Portsmouth and Rangers very soon.

good grief Fats I thought this was a real footy question but I see you are as interested as I am (not).

It's odd..one side must always lose or win yet there are dramas and wrist slashing about the losing team every week as though the world has ended when losing is entirely normal!

and they think that people like me who don't follow it are weird

Indeed. Do tennis players sack their coaches if they lose a game? Apparently Chelsea have had six managers in as many years. Crazy.

John McEnroe blamed the umpire or the ball boy.
