Rebekah Brooks and her husband, Charlie, are being charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice over the phone hacking inquiry.

Three of Mrs Brooks's staff, and News International security head Mark Hanna are also charged with the offence.

In the Royal Courts where I work (Strand/Fleet Street) - nobody thinks a guilty verdict is vaguely possible. Too many red herrings - too many factors in the mist. Impossible to prove in any conclusive way. The winners - the lawyers (not me), paid by the Murdocks.

Did she authorise hacking - of course. But, later this year, she'll be on the Murdock yacht, smiling.

Funnily enough I feel sorry for Flame Mitchell; check out Vile Pervert; The Musical. But the poor bitch just did what was acceptable at the time.
