TOPIC: Best Wimbledon in ages

Best Wimbledon in ages 11 Years, 10 Months ago
Loving it; exciting, different, in HD for me... and, if my bet from months ago (when Ivan Lendl was taken on) that Murray will win Wimbledon this year (7-1) looks safer, I wouldn't discount an outsider final (Rosol didn't beat Nadal because Raphy collapsed - Rosol played like a Champion - and he's ranked 100).

I disagree for once Johnathon, I've been dissapointed so far, although I haven't seen as much as others due to work. Nadal is out, Bartoli is out, sadly Murray is still in, along with his grumpy coach Ivan Lendl, who never smiles, Roddick is out, and Federer is hanging by a thread. Also Serena is still in after an exciting match with Leng. Also I haven't seen much of that great commentator John McEnroe, until a few minutes ago.

As for hd tv, I can't see any difference unless I sit 5cm from the screen, in which case it is vaguely sharper. However I guess you can see greater difference when you are watching on a 50in screen.

It's really weird when the roof goes on; the entire acoustics change; the sound of the balls is quite different.

It's a bit like music Robbie - one man's meat is another man's poison.

Loved Lendl during Murray's battle against Baghdatis - when all the rest of the box stood, cheered, smiled and applauded, Ivan sat stony faced gently tapping the edge of the railing.

Quite right too; not a great performance by Andy. But fingers crossed, as he knows, his game will improve in Week Two.

Baghdatis was very wild during the last set, with so many over-hits. It looked like he didn't want to come back on monday.
