Fresh warm beetroot, with sliced feta cheese, on a bed of organic rocket, sprinkled with deep fried cruotons and mushroom, dressed with smoked garlic flakes, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. All the ingredients were delivered to the door by our organic supplier.
Health wise, one hour later, things took a downturn.
A frightened little man rang the doorbell, with a catalogue in his hand and asked if we would be interested in weekly meat delivery from farms in Scotland, expecting a no, which he had got from every other house, he was completely taken aback by the long list I ordered from him, including whole fillet steak blades, black pudding and all the general things that I should not gorge myself on!
This made me think. In these days when you can order anything online, it still took a travelling salesman to tell me about his company.
Even more worrying healthwise, if we choose not to, we actually don`t have to go shopping ever again.
My long suffering body is , however, delighted that I have bought a new mountain bike!
