BOOKER PRIZE TONIGHT at 10pm on BBC1 17 Years, 7 Months ago
For the first time in 10 years I haven't read the finalists.
Strangely, the Winner will be announced live on BBC News at Ten and then the entire ceremony will be shown and discussed on BBC2 at 10.30... an odd way to do it but I'll be watching.

Well Andrew I published a novel called The Booker Prize Winner... 17 Years, 7 Months ago
but sadly it was about it, not actually winning it, though it did confuse quite a few retailers, as intended!

Yes Chipper: Kiran Desai won with her Inheritance of Loss, and appeared genuinely astonished by her win!

Anita Desai's daughter; it took her 7 years to write.

A former winner, The God Of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, is also well worth reading (I seem to remember it was my favourite that year alongside a wonderful novel about Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness by, if I remember right, Jim Crace.)

Well I work at a dreaded Major... 17 Years, 7 Months ago
everyone here looks at this board several times a day. Nobody dares post.
All had mixed feelings about JK. Now most are far more positive.
But I loved this thread. Really witty.

Excellent I do love the majors, and the good people who work for them, particularly those chatty ones like yourself.
I am glad you enjoyed my one page Booker entry, I was going to call it "A Brief History Of Time", but that title was taken:whistle:
