The whole Monkees-style TV Personality/Popstar crossover is a cunning and timeless ploy, but I think the UK's record buying public are perhaps a little too low in numbers and too clever to fall for it. It's the parents buying the product because the kids want it, do you think the pre-teens in the UK would be anymore clever than the US? Personally I think aimed at this age group it would work in the UK.
