Anyone heard of Hannah Montana? 17 Years, 6 Months ago
I gather she's selling huge quantities of CDs in America (Country rools again) and is Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter (Achy Breaky Heart).

Which label?

Very interesting how much product they are selling. Huge sales. The driver is the TV show. Its getting a lot of press on the business pages over here.

Same reason the Olsen Twins are Billionaires, or why Ashlee Simpson can sell 4 million albums.....its about television 1st.

Maybe I should be paying more attention to that demographic!

.....its about television 1st.So why, other than the X-Factor, is nothing else being done this way in the UK?

Groan...My pre-teen nieces are obsessed with her.

She's on Walt Disney Records (of course, lol), and her real name is Miley Cyrus.

The whole Monkees-style TV Personality/Popstar crossover is a cunning and timeless ploy, but I think the UK's record buying public are perhaps a little too low in numbers and too clever to fall for it. I can't even recall the last TV personality/recording artist crossover in the UK (X-Factor et al aside), are we talking Delta Goodrem?

It's the parents buying the product because the kids want it, do you think the pre-teens in the UK would be anymore clever than the US? Personally I think aimed at this age group it would work in the UK.
