TOPIC: X Factor

X Factor 17 Years, 6 Months ago
Is there any reason why the industry is backing a whole line up of wedding singers?
I just suffered it, I very rarely watch it, and it was appalling.
Yuk.

and then if, like me, you gave up in disgust and turned over to TOTP2, you'd have caught the fabulous 10cc doing Rubber Bullets with a fictional "how they got their name" story to avoid mentioning me!

I could go on and on about this, I got out of my hideous tribute industry, to get back into the mainstream, only to find that the "mainstream", have gone into the tribute industry!
On another note...
11.CC, The ultimate tribute! grrr. One CC better than the original!(ok I made that up)
Aww gawd that was my old job, coming out of me again, no pun intended.
I am very satisfied that I am taking on X Factor for Xmas number one, I know we won`t get it, but the public deserves real indepedent choice, and if I get an internet hit I am happy, the public are being served up beans on toast for Christmas Dinner.

The real story was that I had a dream I had the No1 single and album on the Billboard charts simultaneously and the name was 10cc.

Next morning I called them up and christened them.

But let the dear old BBC rewrite history. I'm just watching Hitler do the same about Jews... or was it gays? Or Moslems? Or paedophiles? Or immigrants? Or Tutsis or Hutus or...

There's always someone and there's always a good reason for it.

The winner writes history.. and while ever there are media whores with the IQ of a fencepost who can smile, take the 15 pieces of silver, and read the script, they always will do the writing...

I just watched the results and cannot believe how bad all the singers are. I don't think you should insult wedding singers. Obviously the judges do not even know when they hear flat singing - how sad it is that these people have such power in the music industry.

Don`t get me wrong about wedding singers, I adore good ones, and dislike bad ones, and myself love taking weddings on when free, I just feel that, that genre should come from elsewhere than mainstream TV, where we will end up with less trained ones, who have the word X-Factor after their name, after failing to get a hit.

There is a certain Darwinist element to Wedding Singers, as opposed to the X-Factor finalists... You fuck up someone's wedding, you're lucky to ride with your skin intact... Fail on X-Factor you get panto as 'From TV's X-Factor...' with TV in a red TV icon representing a model that was dated in 1955, and an overly large photo head on a poorly rendered body... then move on to kid's tv or casino channel on DVB... We live in an age where, ever increasingly, a notable lack of talent equates to 'popularity'... Bread and circuses for a new age...

I'm waiting for Endemol to develop "Asthmatics Running for Cash"... If it's cheap and a freakshow they'll do it... You don't have to pay a shilling to watch the unfortunates in Bedlam today, you can vote for your favourite lunatic at 90pence a minute on Big Brother...

sigh...

You're not wrong. It's been poor as hell for as long as I can remember, but this year is particularly lame.

I much preferred the Fame Academy principle, where the artists were required to pen their own material. As poor as some of the material was, at least it was more edifying.
