I just received an ENORMOUS cheque from iTunes!

They only pay quarterly but what a nice big one that was.

A further footnote, harking back to an earlier thread about USA downloads not being available in the UK, my distro is in the States, and my new single has just appeared on a UK download site proir to appearing on ones in the States.
Well nobody reckoned on that happening, and nobody told me either!(but im very pleased, Martin K no hits still 2.45 pm:woohoo: )

Always good to hear! Do you own all your own material, then (or just the juicy bits)?

If you're surprised, does that mean that you haven't been promoting directly with iTunes? Have people being coming across the material there or were you more pro-active with them?

Yes Michael - I own everything!
The reason I was pleasantly surprised is because we were concentrating on pushing through our own online sales shops (www.wedontdoalbums.com and wedontdosingles.com) since iTunes takes so much of the fairly small price.

So I was even more delighted by the size of the cheque (and quantity of purchases).

I'm more popular than I thought!

Mainly the hits though - Moon, Hooked On A Feeling, Let It All Hang Out, Johnny Reggae etc...

Plus an amazing amount of my version of Who Let The Dogs Out?

And lots of Entertainment USA Themes (ouch!).

I reckon every OUCH in the I'm A Celeb theme provokes an Ent USA sale from people who remember the original.

The thing is, we have these online download shops, and the pennies drip in, but the bigger pennies have to be in the major download stores, not in the pricing to us lot, but in the bigger picture. Although I get less money, I would rather sell 50 on i-tunes than 50 from my own shop. All about exposure innit? Then I can capitalize on that.
BTW? I have been creating my set for my Winter gigs, and "Let It All Hang Out", follows Fat Boy Slim, and mixes in a treat.

I thought it was an "Ow!", rather than an ouch.

The slap noise before it made me assume it was someone being spanked on the butt and shouting ow! Then when I realised you did the theme I stopped assuming

It was originally called I'LL SLAP YOUR FACE and I actually did slap my face and go OW! every time... it's the only time I've ever been red cheeked at the end of a session for reasons other than mortified embarassment at the music (especially with Leap Up And Down Wave Your Knickers In The Air!).

It was originally called I'LL SLAP YOUR FACE and I actually did slap my face and go OW! every time... That's so ridiculous it has to be true! Most people would have clapped their hands or slapped their leg or something, but you had to go for the authenticity didn't you?! Love it!

I have played it here before, and seen a very 1977 punk reaction to the tune!
