People think I discovered him but no, he was the late arrival in Genesis, after I had past them on to Tony Stratton Smith. I did meet him when I introduced the band at a huge gig they did when they got together in order to get Peter Gabriel out of financial troubles over his festivals for world music. Nice man, very polite and sweet to me. Later he starred in one of my Brits shows. Perfect pitch; I've never known anyone else sing so spot on tune wise. Highly talented.
