I don't think the experts are looking at this correctly - and I'm well aware of similarities, having very publicly (they played my version of He's So Fine in George Harrison's court case and he never spoke to me again) commented in the past; likewise on the melodic similarities between It's A Sin and Wild World. But the problem is - often a song may be melodically (or lyrically) similar to another but it is just the differences (often tiny) that make all the difference - experts analysing chord sequences miss the point. If someone sings a note differently it can change the entire feel and turn a flop into a hit. I truly believe my Ooga Chaggas turned Mark James' country tune into a cross over smash. Same song but the ingredient I added was like adding flour to a cake recipe.
