I knew this band well in the 60s and 70s - really nice, down to earth, funny Londoners. I was closest to Alan but they were all great guys.

Whatever You Want - arguably the best intro ever for a pop track?

My favourite Quo track is 'Drifting Away'.
I was sad to see Rick drifting away, but he lived his life to the full, no matter what the cost.
He'll be missed .. which is a good thing to say about anyone.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but it was obvious at the time that Status Quo should have called it a day at the conclusion of the 2013 'Frantic Four' reunion tour when Quo fans finally saw Alan Lancaster & John Coghlan bury the hatchet with Francis & Rick. A fitting end to a 50 career, and 30 years of sustaining a career on the goodwill created by that 'classic' line-up.
Instead we got the increasingly crotchety & prudish Francis falling out with Rick and the 'Aquostic' project that is - and should have been - a Rossi solo endeavour with Andy Bown & Rhino.
