Will I be in tonight's Top of the Pops? 7 Years, 3 Months ago
It looks at 1983 and I well remember being deeply involved in the structure of the 80s shows with my friends and colleagues Michael Hurll and Gordon Elsbury. A key part was my regular inserts from America. These ran virtually every month and had a huge impact on the music appreciated by the British music fans. Is this going to be ignored? In which case, does the BBC object to lying by omission? Both Michael and Gordon told me many, many times that the three of us essentially saved Top of the Pops and contributed hugely to the success of the British and American music industries that decade. Perhaps the BBC don't regard accuracy and honesty as important these days, especially as the rest of the media looks for reasons to criticise the BBC. Better to hide the past and rewrite history, Mr Hall?

And intriguing - the next year we got more criticism than ever before or after for daring to use a convicted criminal On The Run on Top of the Pops! But the BBC had more backbone back then.
