The lad is a great performer, isn't he?

Likeable with tons of enthusiasm for the performance.

A few rough edges, which will probably be ironed out in the coming months.... but not sure they need to be.

He certainly shows enthusiasm, and I've tried to like it. The problem is that, although I've listened to it a few times, it doesn't stay in my mind. There doesn't seem to be a hook to draw me back to it.
In the great days of old Eurovision, even if I hated a song, it stuck annoyingly in my mind and I'd end up humming it despite myself.
That hasn't happened for a long time.

Somewhere along the line, the magic has been lost.
