I used to agent for a band that used to play songs from "Rocky", without even having to do the stage show, and the songs stood up well, when this project moved over to the songs from "Grease", there really was only the two obvious songs that people wanted to hear. I deliberately did not put The Blues Brothers, or the Commitments in my list, a, because they are technically soul films, and b, because the music was so lifted from the brilliant original tracks , as to form a "tribute act genre".
Granted , in the former, there were some wonderful cameos, and Belushi and Ackroyd were fantasticly funny, but unfortunately for music in the long run , the film does have a lot to answer for.
"The Doors", was allways going to be a good film, as the pre-production, was so long. In 1978, it was widely rumoured that John Travolta would be playing Morrison, this outcome would have been interesting to say the least.

..Also it`s worth mentioning, how good James Stewart was as Glen Miller, and the Elvis documentary, "Thats the Way it Is", is fantastic.
5.Stardust
4.Summer Nights
3.Your the One That I Want
2.Stonehenge (Spinal Tap)
1.The Time Warp.
These are not my own favourites, but I think their influence on how people put shows/bands together is pinnacle.
It`s a chicken and egg thing, obviously every Beatles song should be on the list, but the films were made FOR the music, and not the music for the films.

I havent seen that one so I can`t comment myself.
Interesting comment earlier, about "Rattle And Hum " too, I did enjoy the film at the time, but it is`nt one of the greats, and I do like watching the clips, but I couldn`t eat a whole one twice!
"High Fidelity", brilliant of course, I feel an idiot for not putting that one in, purely, as the whole thing was based on guys making rock lists! Doh!
