sony wants to get control of his half of Sony ATV publishing, so they are trying to ruin his career (something he is quite capable of doing himself) for years.

When Jackson released his first new album in 10 years, sony re-released all his old stuff (remastered, bonus tracks). (This dirty trick was "invented" by a Capitol-guy when Sinatra left to form Reprise)
