Great to hear about that explosion of views; the site has clearly never been more relevant.

The brain dead moron who finds it amusing to use existing poster names placed the above. As they did the previous posts saying nobody visits anyway. But the majority of attempted posts are spam; most from Russia. Our filters remove literally thousands a day automatically.

The point of The Tipsiest originally was not just to expose and promote great music but to appeal to those working in the global music industry, many of whom loved both music and the industry. That is, sadly, what no longer seems appropriate. It appears the majority of executives are only in it for the money. And even the music makers - now that it's so easy to make tracks without any filter process - now don't listen to the input of others, leading to a decline in quality (especially mass appeal) and an increase in inferior sounds, burying the real talent under the weight of mediocrity.

You could call it ‘Your Tipsheet Views’. (?) Anyway, it would be a shame to lose the brand.
(I used to be a regular poster but haven’t been here for a while)

Steve Hoffman message boards seems to be the go-to place.

Hoffman? That's one of the worst-moderated sites out there. Being 'assessed' for abiding by the rules by ageing Grateful Dead fans - it's ridiculous. They ban people for pretty much anything. And to read anything about new music you need to wade through endless lonely male crap about the weight of vinyl, the 'sonic' inadequacies of various bits of kit and furious arguments about The Beatles' stereo mixes and what order of merit to place any album from the Seventies.

So I still think a place where you can just concentrate on what's coming out, what trends are happening and who is doing what and where in the business would be a good idea. But I can understand that the apparent lethargy is depressing. Maybe getting some people who are connected to the streaming services would give the forum a boost?

I just see it as a way of categorizing the posts between "Your Views" for general things and "Tipsheet MB" for music. Why close it down? It's not doing any harm it will just mean all the music views will get posted in the "Your Views" tab.

I can always find something interesting to find on Hoffman. I can ignore new vinyl and mixes. However, I did go down pointless to a rabbit hole about Genesis releases. What versions sound better etc, at the end of the day it is what sounds better to you!

I don't post on Hoffman, but I have discovered some obscure AOR and Prog rock stuff from there and continue to do so. New stereo mixes and Beatles do nothing for me, I do like to keep updated on re-releases because my mates like them for their collections and I do like buying presents for people.

From my experience Grateful Dead fans (Deadheads) are shallow people and love talking and comparing bootlegs (most of them sound shit or inaudible it's only the broadcasts tapes that worth getting if you're a fan of course) it's like comparing manhood's.

I still find it hard to discover new rock music.
