what exactly did you do for people like orson?
it's all very well spotting them before everyone else but how did that help them?
and how much money did you make?

It was to alert people to new talent (fortunately I make enough money other ways).
So that's why, when we (very rarely) rave about an Unsigned act, the industry sits up and pays attention.
That's what happened with Orson; for 8 years they were totally ignored, one week after I picked up on them and raved about No Tomorrow, everyone was chasing them.
That's what I do.
Every now and then the industry continues to ignore my picks... sometimes then I get professionally involved and do a deal to work on the act or the song or whatever (Chumbawamba; Who Let The Dogs Out etc).
But most of my picks are intended to alert others about real musical talent.
Which was exactly what happened to ORSON.
In other areas, I tend to teach and train and advise people and sometimes projects like Nizlopi and Daz Sampson benefit from my example, influence and training.
