A very rare interview in BBC2's Culture Show yesterday evening - SW looking 42 rather than 62! - but why do they have to persist with this tired and inaccurate "'60s icon gone loco" angle and the sneering attitude of the interviewer ("Scott, do you think this new album is a musician's record for other musicians only" etc.)? Say what you like, but he went down that road and by God he's stuck to it, and good for him is what I say; I thought Tilt was an absolute masterpiece, loved his production work on the last Pulp album and can't wait to hear the new one.

Now JK penned the sleevenote to Scott 2, so I'd be interested to know what he thinks about the great man these days.

Yup they did go along the well trodden path of oh he's a tortured soul etc etc and concentrated far too much on the 1960s - and missed out the stuff he did in the 1970s, did you notice that?
I'm glad someone else agrees with me that Tilt is a true masterpiece, can't wait for The Drift to come out.

Watched it with great interest and he's still the same loyal friend and honest talent he always was.... 18 Years, 1 Month ago
Not sure about the new music myself but he always was, in my opinion, one of the great singers of all time.
And the truth is he could never quite see why talent had to be insulted by celebrity.
A point many have later have agreed with.
