I think she is worse than bad and makes Ashlee Simpson sound like an exceptional singer.

I have a serious point to this. If everyday on here i hear about how artists have to have talent, looks and hits and all the hoops artists have to go through as far as honing down their own talent is concerned. Why and how do artists like Kate Alexa, Ashlee Simpson get deals, heavy rotation and as a result success.

Is it all smoke and mirrors ? Do actual hits really matter anymore ? There is a thin line between hits and shit like this lol (not trying to be rude.
Please everyone contribute to this as it is a fundamental issue in the music industry.

She sounds OK to me; I've heard worse but these tracks are not hits and I hate songs with na...na...na...na in them.
Nepotism? Doesn't bother me. If people want to buy celebrity and fame, good luck to them.
What does worry me is the lack of people like myself prepared to seek out, find and expose talent.
I cannot believe that ORSON were around for 8 years in Los Angeles without anyone realising they wrote some hits!

Well i dont have a problem with nepotism either after who wouldnt push their kids/wife/girlfriend etc. But surely get someone onboard who can give an objective opinion on the material. As far as her voice is concerned it's all autotune and effects. Can't say ive heard worse in recent years. Anyone else got any opinions ?

It is the bands responsibility as much as anyones. Musical talent is an intensely personal gift that allows you to bare your soul to the masses, if you feel that you have something to say and a great melody it is your responsibility to exhaust all avenues available to you (particularly now with the technology available and the ease of communication). If your songs are good enough and you keep exposing them the good will eventually come out.

Have confidence in yourself as an artist and keep your exposure up. If you get feedback from someone you respect then heed it.

The only reason she is in the limelight is cause of her parents status. Very unfair for all the artists who work their ass off to get a deal

Noticed you ranting on ROTD too, what's your dis-interest in this artist then?

Well i have no personal issues with her just sat through a painful video clip and got me wondering as to how on earth anyone thought she was ready for the marketplace. Ok she is young (16) but should be in development for a couple of years to get her vocals up to scratch and also to find some decent songs and not some third rate songs. It got me thinking as a parent myself how maybe one's personal feelings towards their child might affect their professional judgement.
