Re:Karel Fialka: "Hey Matthew": Shirley someone remembers this? 17 Years, 11 Months ago
Heh! You've been peeking through my record collection haven't you Martin!

I really like It's Immaterial though my fave track of theirs was Space.

I first heard of them via a magazine on tape called SFX in the early 80's. I was so refreshing to actually hear the interviews rather than just reading them. One classic interview had Lou Reed threatening to punch the interviewer if he asked any more stupid questions!

Bands sent demos in which is where It's Immaterial and The The were first played.

A very original idea, but it folded after about two years....

I am pretty sure in my mums loft, I have a gatefold version on 7", with a very bare 4 track demo of it featured Nathan.I`m there tomorrow , I will have a look.
It`s also of note from the first "Its Immaterial" (Eds Funky Diner)release, that they would appear to have been in instant trouble, as the Christians were on backing vocals, and the main instrumentalist was starting to work more with them.Simon Hicks signed them to Siren records, along with T`Pau, Cutting Crew, and Breathe. They passed up on me in the end, but I`m not bitter:sick:
Ok here`s another none hit..999 "Found Out Too Late". How did 999 never chart? Great pop songs.

"Driving away from home" begat "I could eat a knob at night" 17 Years, 11 Months ago
it totally slipped my mind that I used my failed "Driving.." remake as the basis for "I Could Eat A Knob At Night" featuring Karl Pilkington (Ricky Gervais' pal)
