He started Tees if I remember correctly.
Some of those Strawbs hits were classics.
A huge and under rated talent.

Dave Cousins is still going strong with The Strawbs. The "Hero & Heroine" era version of the band is on tour in the UK in June:

Sun 18 Jun - The Ferry, Glasgow
Mon 19 Jun - Penrith Playhouse, Penrith
Tue 20 Jun - Boardwalk, Sheffield
Wed 21 Jun - Half Moon, Putney
Thu 22 Jun - Komedia, Brighton

You can reach Dave through the webmaster at The Strawbs website:

The Strawbs are still going strong. I'm a Strawbs fan and are underrated.

I'm a union man

A few years ago, he was the resident songster in the bar at the Hotel Vicky in Niederau (an Austrian ski resort) where I was staying. I think he was a ski instructor or something and just did a regular turn to entertain the village guests.

To be honest, I heard "Part Of The Union" so many times (my bedroom was directly above his PA) that I was thinking of starting a Thatcherite campaign to pull the plug.
