Beatles, pink floyd messages 18 Years ago
I listen to A day in a life by beatles and Empty Spaces by Pink Floyd.

Now at the end of both songs there is something recorded backwards can some tell what they are I also heard they recored both albums in the same studio.

I'll be greatful if someone can tell me something about them.

The studio was EMI's Abbey Road.

The last chord on "A Day In The Life" was played by Lennon, McCartney, Starr, Mal Evans (Roadie) and George Martin on 3 pianos and multitracked four times.

Wasn't there a subliminal message at the end of A day in a life and Empty Spaces.

The bit you're talking about on A Day In The Life isn't a part of that track.

On the CD they tagged a short burst of the vinyl runout track onto the end of A Day In The Life.

The runout track is the circular gulley at the centre of a vinyl record. It's normally blank, but over the years many avant garde wags have used it as an infinite track that repeats every few seconds.

Sgt Pepper had a novelty runout track on side 2, after the last track on the album A Day In The Life. It was recorded as "Edit for LP End" on 21 April 1967 in a special session.

There are many versions of what is said backwards and forwards.

Pink Floyd were recording Piper At The Gates of Dawn in Abbey Road at the same time and apparently have a similar runout track (I don't have that album).

Empty Spaces (The Wall) has many effects and sounds edited among the music tracks and certainly does have some backwards voices on the left at the start. This album wasn't recorded at Abbey Road AFAIK, it was recorded in France and the USA.

From Wikipedia, about Empty Spaces:

If played backwards, the following can be heard:

Congratulations. You've just discovered the secret message. Please send your answer to Old Pink, care of the Funny Farm, Chalfont...
Roger! Carolyn's on the phone!

It is believed that this backward message is a comical reference to former lead singer/guitarist Syd Barrett. Roger Waters congratulates you for finding this message, and jokes that you can send your answer to Syd (the 'Old Pink'), who lives somewhere in Chalfont (the 'funny farm' in Chalfont). Before he can tell the exact location however, he gets interrupted by someone in the background who says Carolyn (Waters' wife) is on the phone.
