Dorset band sign to EMI 17 Years, 11 Months ago
And about time too! "Air Traffic", have reputedly signed a five album deal this week.
All Tipsheet readers, have all been tipped that the advent of the Southerners is on the horizon, is the ball starting to roll??

how long in the business?

five album deal, eh? 17 Years, 11 Months ago
glad you are not my manager.

There is no such thing as a five album deal, there is no such thing as a one album deal. There is a recording fund which the label may or may not release the product thereof. If all goes well ,there will be an option for another album in the next year otherwise it is so long air traffic. this goes on for 5 years.

Stop the hype

Yes I must agree with HOW LONG... this industry exaggeration game was deeply impressive in the 60's, less so in the 70's when everyone had sussed it and a TOTAL WANK since then...

Here's the game...

MULTI MILLION DOLLAR DEAL (never pounds - less impressive) means about

Makes you also wonder why bands take these huge loans off labels too. Stay Independent, fund yourself and take 100% credit for your work

I was predictably sceptic myself when I was delivered the press release, however, I decided to rejoice in any success, for our rather eccentric area.
I have no hype interest in this act, personally or financial, I was actually seeking confirmation!
Any advances these days, I would check out the APR .
I do not know of many bands that I could see completing a five album deal, personalities change so much in the time it takes to create that amount of work.
And the old worn out phase ...The difficult third album.....grrrr, it`s the 2nd one that is invariably not very good sadly.
That all apart, I am proud of my local scene attracting ears and eyes:cheer:
