but it doesn't get so much airplay outside of specialist radio stations.

Thankfully we have the internet.

Listen to the track "Washing Day". Cool stuff.

The trumpet sounds distressingly like a keyboard. It will take more than this to get radio's interest, IMHO.

Even the big trumpet players such as Lester Bowie (RIP) and Calvin Owens bring more to the table than PB Stewart, and they have (had) a hard time.

If you want to see how one trumpeter is managing to score proper media impact, check out Erik Truffaz.

Doesn't sound like a keyboard to me, but whatever the instrument, Jazz is a style of music whether played on a trumpet or not.

I only heard P B Stewart perform live on one occasion, and that time he was on harmonica with only one accoustic guitar backing. I recall he played a very bluesy version of Amazing Grace, and the theme to Last of the Summer Wine. No trumpet in sight at that venue, but no keyboard either.

The main point of my post was that it's good to see that people are still making Jazz music. I'm not really bothered how they make it. It's just cool that it's still alive.
