The final half dozen Top of the Pops starts with a Radio One trailer for live music saying This Is What We Do...
Then this is what we don't - two gibbering blondes introduce six gibbering Pussycat Dolls.
Nowhere as good as their first two giant smashes.
Then Zutons do Valerie - not as good as Stevie Winwood's song (nobody wanted it then though I played it every week... it took a sample and a dance mix decades later for the punters to catch on).
Flashback; Captain Sensible Happy Talk - always hated it.
Jamie Foxx Extravaganza was like a good American version of Craig David done by an actor.
Then Rooster did Home; I like almost everything about Rooster 90% but sadly that adds up to 0.
Formula pop rock so rarely works.
Busta Rhymes who I often like.
Not this one though.
Then Lostprophets... I still don't quite understand what label they are on but I like this a lot; raucous and rocking in a choral way... yes this is one for JK.
Why do they work when Rooster don't? You tell me.
Rooftops. Ought to be No 1.
1984. Madonna. Holiday. Always loved this.
Bright girl. That sounds rather like the keeper in Jurassic Park just before being debowelled by the raptor.
It was meant to.
Then Wolfmother, who ever they may be.
Nice young kids making good old rock.
Nothing wrong with that.
Must be American - too good and too unoriginal to be Brits.
Just Googled - of course they are Australian. Makes sense!
And out with Maneater.

...there will be footage of the first one.
I do hope Jimmy Saville gets asked to present at least a part of it.
