Going Deaf For A Living.... 17 Years, 10 Months ago
.....Their album(of that title) that kind of summed it all up.
My right ear has problems at my age,(44) and I was unfortunately onstage with a dignatory ,of a ,statesman musician, who blew an ear drum live.(not pleasant)
Red Skies Over Paradise is their classic.
Some new up and coming stuff, and indeed eccentric , on my site at

www.mkitcher.com

we have been uploading and skipping stuff off all night!

Still can`t find it, but I have found "Red Skies Over Paradise", which is interesting as it is a new wave concept album.
The only other new wave concept album, I think was by Sham 69....I rest my case your honour:woohoo:

One of fave singles is So Long by Fisher Z! I heard it back years ago on the Janice Long evening show!

As for the site, it is good! I guess it's just made up of videos taken fron Youtube?

My first one was going to be Wot by Captain Sensible but it came back with an error!! So I did Technopolis by the Yellow Magic Orchestra instead!

I even went as far as joining the Fischer-Z fan club and sent off for a sweatshirt and Fischer-Z baseball cap (cringe). It's really good to know that I wasn't the only one to have liked them!

Just been listening to some more tracks off that site. Lots of great memories / tracks / bands (and some really awful haircuts).

With all the Fisher Z fans in the world ... 17 Years, 10 Months ago
gathered here on this side maybe i should auction my
mega-rare Promo-Copy of "Remember Russia" or the ultra-rare picture disc of "The Worker".

Fisher Z had some good songs, but when i saw them live at the Marquee (as a support act) in 78 or 79 i had to walk out, they were really terrible - with the drummer in front of the band ...

I think Fischer Z deserve their own thread at this rate! 17 Years, 10 Months ago
Has anyone got any of John Watts` solo stuff?
The other query I had about the band, and this is annoying as I have met the guy twice and didn`t ask,.. was that Joe Jacksons drummer under a pseudo , performing with them?
And one for DJones...I never liked "The Worker", I think in some ways this was why the band never had a big hit. They were impossible to pin down, and probably did it deliberately as well.
I watched the Haircut 100 video, and was spared it at the click of a mouse:sick:

Well John Watts has certainly been busy!

www.fischer-z.com/fulldisc.html

There are some things missing as my copy of the CD single of The Perfect Day has a "happy mix" of So Long! It has cheery backing vocals! Very strange! Maybe we could start a Fischer Z comeback?

Now - Joe Jackson. Another of my favourites. Saw him at Leeds - he was supporting the Stones. There were 80,000 people there (i'm told) and Joe (and his band) took photos of the audience. He said he would probably never play to a crowd as big again- and I doubt he ever did .....

I saw Joe with Todd Rundgren last year, which was a very wierd show, in many ways a missmatch, but he probably over-rode Todd on this occasion, as it was at Jacksons` home venue in Portsmouth.
I can`t get the Fischer Z link to work Vince.

Wow Vince - I had no idea Fischer-Z / John Watts had made so many records. I've only got about 4 of their albums but my favourite is Word Salad - one of the early ones ...

Yes - lets revive them!
