Check this out - tipped to us by Popbitch

That's a tribute manga homemade video I love but the song's a hit.
Will anyone ever play it?
Could be the summer surprise smash of 2006.

Big End

I liked it...a lot of fun and surely a big one for the European market i.e. that good time summer feel. Not so sure it will get any airplay in the UK.

www.shanadoo.com/

iTunes music store song link

You're right Jonathan,

It's a very catchy track - nice happy pop melody
with a dancey modernistic production.

At first I thought they were Japanese? after visiting their website
I discover they're a German pop vocal group.

Using the Google translation tools you can translate the website from
German to English and read about them.

It appears their track "King Kong" is only currently available
from the German store of iTunes.

The song is from 2001.

In 2005 there was a japanese version:

Producer is David Brandes, who had hits with E-Rotic in the 90s.

Last year he produced the swiss and german entries into the eurovision song contest ... Germany won 4 (four) points.

And last year Brandes was caught buying his acts (Vanilla Ninja) into the german charts.

Label: Sony / BMG

It's all getting very confusing.
Are The Hinoi Team the same girls (they certainly look it)?
David the producer seems determined not to give up and QUITE RIGHT TOO!

PS Anyone who hypes the stupid charts is OK by me!!

Don't know about the Hinoi Team, but Shanadoo (or at least three of the girls) are Vivace (a japanese act).

Hinoi Team released an album of cover-versions last year.

so the japanese lyrics and the dance moves are new additions to the original song

Brandes didn't use (only) good old fashioned hype, ... he literally bought his acts into the charts:
he send buyers into shops.

Nothing against that DJ, if it works.
I invented it and started it.
Anything which gets a higher profile for the track as long as it doesn't cost too much.
One day I'll write a piece - how I started chart hype in the 1970's.

Jonathan this would be an extremely "Must Read" also we need to have you write
a book on "Easy Money and Hit Records" or "The Golden Wheel Of Pop"
or "Pop Goes The Money Machine"

Hey, Ive got some good titles there ..
