West Ham star Shaun Newton. 17 Years, 10 Months ago
Hammers star Shaun Newton has been banned from the club for several months due to failed drugs test for cocaine.

This has been a great shock for us fans, the club and football itself.

A lot of celbrities and footballers have fallen on stony ground. They usually lose support from fans and admirers, the most important thing for a celebrity.

But as JK has taught us - give people a chance and forgive people too. Shaun Newton is a good player and we wish him all the best for the future and look forward to watching him again.

Good thing he didnt miss the drugs test, or he'd have got a longer ban (8 months?) like Rio.

That would depend if he missed it intentionally or not. I seem to recall Ferdinands excuse was a bit lame.

Ferdinand said he forgot; which is crap - something like that never slips out of your mind.

Why do footballers and athletes do drugs?

It is a disgrace to football.

Like Adrian Mutu at Chels, too much money not enough brains. They deserve all they get thrown at them, kids look up to these guys who are lucky enough to make the grade as a Profesional footballer. If they screw up they've only got themselves, their agents and the parasitic hangers on to blame. Why would any professional sports person even contemplate doing drugs recreational or otherwise ? Fools........

I remember when Paul Merson of Arsenal was sacked due to cocaine how much affesct it had on my mate he looked up to him as an idol and wanted to be like him.

These people crush childrens spirts.

If players like Dean Ashton, Marlon Harewood, Teddy Shringham I will be lost.
