Music Week sales down - again 17 Years, 8 Months ago
Latest ABC figures show the industy bible (old testament?) down this year to 8180 from 8825. I had a quick look in some old copies I have and in 1999 it was 11,851. way to go!
Everybody seems to come here or RotD board, or get their email, or make do with the short MW email.
It'd sort of be sad to see it go, but then again, maybe not.

Yes indeed; in my copy this week it only quotes the 2003-2004 figures which were 9,622 (I was not one of them as Her Majesty's did not allow Music Week).
So what's wrong with it?
May I suggest... no enthusiasm, no energy, no decent gossip (take our confirmation two weeks before Tim Bowen announced it that Ged was getting the Sony/BMG gig... obtained through a very high placed personal source).
Nobody there with a spark or a twinkle or a passion.
The staff are decent enough drones doing a dreary job in a photocopy way.
There's nothing exciting about it.
The only exception I would make is Alan Jones, under appreciated. At least he cares and he knows his facts.
The chart is now crap. Everyone knows. Nobody cares (anyone with sense prefers Apple).
Once you remove the magic, everything left is dross.
Please regard The Tip Sheet as the place to visit for enthusiasm, love of music, humour, good information, sparkle, fun, sharing, encouraging...

They're talking about sales of the Music Week magazine Jamie.

If artists are selling their music on-line as downloads then, depending on where they're selling, it will be counted. Do you know of anyone who is selling music downloads on-line and not via a major site like I-Tunes? Or are you talking about selling physicals?
