My heart goes with Ireland - socially everybody needs to vote for it; morally it's the winner and will hopefully be a big hit in China, Iran, Uganda and other places.
JK2006 wrote: Not a hit in sight this year, to be honest, which always makes it difficult to predict. I rather liked Poland which didn't even make the final. Of those left I quite fancy Ireland and Australia; Israel is still the obvious but really not a song. And highly irritating; slightly sinister. Cyprus doesn't do it for me at all. UK will be lucky to get into the teens I reckon; more likely twenty something.
Face facts there hasn't been a hit in sight for over 20 years, that said I'm glad that Isreal won with Netta, such a lovely girl.
Definitely enjoyable but the UK is and has been an embarrassment for some time. They just don’t learn. Next thing we’ll be hearing ad nauseum (but nothing to do with music or songwriting) will be that England won the World Cup in 1966.
I remember my mother telling me, way back, that the 'jury' did not see the singers because they had to judge the song, not the singer/s. Not sure how true that was.
So different now, where a song can be eclipsed by stage performers.
