Even slightly intelligent people with an agenda will seriously believe Brexit has nothing to do with the Swindon debacle; I'm not so sure.

Even slightly intelligent people have to accept facts Doctor King...there are plenty of ways that they can snipe at Brexit....they just have to go and find them...instead of seeing things that are simply not up to holding water under analysis..

....I'll be posting the latest employment data in a while....we can both blame brexit for the fact the figures are very encouraging...

Analysts say Brexit not the main ingredient but clearly AN ingredient. Just as Brexit itself is not a disaster but pulling out, with all the expense and complications, clearly is. Jim Holder of What Car? on BBC News says - Brexit played a big part.

As I keep saying; changing from right to left hand drive might be a good idea in principle but the complications of doing it make it not worth the bother.

That's what I feel about Brexit. Not worth the bother.

'It's a good story'

Ian Howells, their vice President stated clearly today it was nothing to do with Brexit, and all to do with centralising production in Japan....they are also closing a plant in Turkey....and keeping their European Headquarters in England...none of which infer Brexit...but there are plenty of Remoaners whom are desperate to pin the blame...any blame on Brexit....

....as for the rest of your argument....the EU was causing large problems for many, especially the poorer elements...it had a chance to reform....and refused....getting out before the imminent Euro currency collapse come the next recession....the world is changing, whether we like it or not....Honda are selling more cars elsewhere, less in the EU....Junker turned up drunk in public to make a speech recently....wearing odd shoes....do I seriously want to put my trust, and government in such a fool?
A Good Day to you Sir.....

You are perfectly able to base your opinions on the state of a person's footwear. And we are likewise allowed to hear other opinions on the media and form our own based on that.

Doctor King....I doubt he was in any state to 'choose'....

I expect my government to be run by professionals, turning up drunk, being seen to be escorted from the podium with odd shoes on...or those other political favourites of yours...Corbyn/Abbott....being made fools of on national TV by having absolutely no clue about the costings of their policies....

...Politics is a dream to you...but dreams have to meet reality...just hoping Brexit is at fault...while it is clearly proved not to be the next day....or hoping a currency will succeed when it is patently obvious it is on the verge of collapse....even good policies need good leadership to be effective...and asking a Remainer like May to deliver Brexit is the reason all this time/money is being wasted...equally asking a confirmed Leaver like Corbyn to lead the Remain cause will give you the current mess the Labour party is in...if only politics was as simple as writing and singing one of the greatest pop songs of the 60s....

Do you have a reliable source for that? I can't find one.

He doesn't seem drunk to me in the video clip at the bottom of this article, where he's apparently speaking at the event where people were claiming he was wearing one brown shoe and one black one, yet appearing to be wearing the same style of shoes at a meeting on the same day where they both appear black.

Ah, yes, and as the article shows, a source of this black/brown/drunk speculation was Leave.EU.

Leave.eu picked up on the story Jo...but were certainly not the ones who put it out there.....the Irish are no Brexit supporters, but they had it quite clearly marked down....I certainly would not take any news from a biased source, without double checking it from neutral sources....the news should form your opinion....not look for news to back up your opinion....

Another example

The video you post suggesting he's wearing a black shoe and a brown shoe is from the Murdoch-owned Irish Sun. Yet he seems to me to be wearing two black shoes in the video. The video at the bottom RTL link I posted shows him speaking at the same event and he seems sober to me. The penultimate video you post shows him joking around and claims he's drunk. How do they know he's drunk? Are people who joke around always drunk? The next video shows him unsteady on his feet and being supported and claims he's drunk. Again, how do they know? The European Commission said it was sciatica, which according to the NHS can cause painful/tingling/numb/weak bottom/legs/feet/toes. It's possible that they were trying to conceal a drink problem but I wouldn't call the rabidly anti-EU right-wing and Murdoch-owned press and people who share those views on YouTube a reliable source of EU-related news.

No great surprise, but the press seem to be split on political lines about whether he's drunk or not....rumours of his drinking have been going for years, well before that...hard to know if he's a drunk,or just plain stupid/silly at times...leave you with these.

Fisheries and Brexit 3 Years, 4 Months ago
One of the principal matters of dispute, in the ongoing negotiations, is fishing - which seems unusual, bearing in mind that it amounts to only 0.12% of our GDP. But our seafaring traditions are strong and ports, like Grimsby, have lost over 50% of their fleets over the past 30 years.

As a result of membership of the Common Fisheries Policy, the UK can only catch less than 20% of the fish that swim in British Waters. Most of the cod caught in the English Channel is by French trawlers - with Spain, Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark the other main players.

Many think this issue is relatively unimportant, overall - but the UK is standing firm in an attempt to win back its maritime status and superiority. Which it has lost since joining the EEC in 1973 - but, as is highly probable, at the cost of leaving the EU without a deal.

Yes it's now became clear that fisheries - which are almost insignificant to us financially - were indeed the stumbling block.

A telephone call today between Johnson and von der Leyen is the only hope for a no-deal Brexit. It is highly unlikely they will have a solution.

So, we will welcome in the New Year with higher prices, red tape and unending paperwork for our trade and travel - and many other things beside.

It is all posturing - "we are hanging tough in there for the EU/Britain" - while the real details get worked out elsewhere.

I think a deal remains the most likely outcome, but there may be some further agreed delay. The other problem could be EU countries (particularly France if the EU gives too much ground on fishing) putting a veto on any agreememt.

It is all so boring and unnecessary. While I am a remainer as I can't see any point in doing any of this, it probably won't be as bad as most remainers make out.

You may be right.

But a deal on the telephone today - after months of face-to-face negotiations by seasoned officials - seems a bridge too far.

Few countries will climb off their horses, with some already gearing up for a 2021 exit.

Which - Covid or a no-deal Brexit - will cost us most?

A no deal Brexit because Covid hasn't cost us anything - lockdowns have.

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Real answer, no idea. But our debt is already monstrous, so how anyone thinks we can pay more for anything is beyond me.

But politicians debate lockdown support as if money is no issue at all....
