Ironic isn't it? "Conservative" parties around the world have become the enemy of manufacturing (but they aren't really conservative any more.."Venture Capitalists" and "free marketeers", NeoLiberalism and all that.)

What does Britain sell? I wrack my brains. So many wonderful products once manufactured in the UK are now Made in China or owned by other countries.

Is Britain now a "service nation"?. Australia almost is. It only has it's natural resources but once gas etc is replaced by "renewable energy" it's rapidly becoming a holiday destination for the burgeoning Chinese Middle Class..now a staggering number of 400 Million which is more than the populations of most countries.

But will it all end in tears?

I see Barneys in New York ( was it named after our poster?) has gone bust after neatly 100 years which is really something.
A store I loved to visit ( I lurve department stores) selling high end goods.

It's been some years since I was last in NYC and even then I noticed the crowds..humongous on the streets..seemed to have abandoned stores like Bloomingdales.

SIGN OF THE TIMES ### Apparently Barneys has become a Shoplifter's Paradise in it's dying months as they surge through the store ripping of pairs of Louboutins & the occasional Fendi handbag safe in the knowledge all the security staff have left to find other jobs and the sales assistants don;t bother stopping them sinnce one got bitten on the hand and another slapped in the face.

And I noticed so many empty stores up for rent on the once thriving upper East Side..apparently it's a whole lot worse now with entire blocks up for rent.

Give Donald Trump another 4 years and he'll demolish the joint.

Had to happen one day..the Collapse of Capitalism.(still some life in it yet but....)

I asked a question Barney. It's obvious we trade.

Stop wasting your charm on my posts.

Those of you in favour of Brexit and trade...could you answer this?

We are a nation of near 70 million. WTF are we actually selling ?
Much of our I dustries were sold off, we have become reliant on superpowers for things like trade and security?

We are a group of islands stuck in the middle of the ocean. Europe has the advantage of being landlocked, thus shipping tariffs are very low or non existent if they trade with each otger.
If we usage ourselves, how do you think they will punish us?

That's only one aspect. Oil is another.

Putin has the right idea. If you can work it out.

The EU isn't and has never been about trade. It is largely about security too - something Farage has never seemed to touch on. Funny that?
Mind you, some of the kind of airheads which hang on to his every word are an example that goes against creating a safer place.

The next form of capitalism isn't going to be products of any kind, it will be something we should have bought into a long time ago.

Five letters, starts with T and ends with H.

Get your thinking caps on.

I'm currently writing today's blog. I have sorted out the navigational menu on my WordPress now so things can be found easier.
I dropped a link to it on a social media (bio) of mine which was set to private. Oddly, when I checked my WordPress stats, a view had come from that link from a user which was not a follower. I checked back later to find the user account no longer existed. Hmm. People don't want to hear or read what I have to say, but they go to the lengths of hacking or cyber abuse. Must be crap hackers because my WordPress links are in many places.
More likely a stunt than a hack.

Nearly 3 weeks in to Dry January and I haven't touched a drop. And I'm finding it easy because alcohol was boring me a long time ago.

Sometimes you have to take stock of what you need and who you need. Or don't need or want!
I'll never say 'never' though.

I havent the foggiest what the five letters are.

The fact you have to ask tells me you aren't worth the time. Again.

JK, is there a block button on here?

I have already twigged some people here are not here to help.

I am sorry I hurt your feelings, Bookworm. It was truly not my intention.

There is unfortunately no block button, so feel free to scroll on by.
