Russia - best staging; terrific. Malta - that girl is a star; just watch her explode.

James Newman - adequate but an example of how the UK music industry has collapsed over the past 20 years. No originality; no imagination; not a hit in a million years and not a winner in a billion.

The Swiss entry sounds like that dreadful Sam Smith James Bond theme.

I'd like Iceland to win (they should have won last year); funny, clever, original - but the song is not quite as good as last year.

I rather like Lithuania all in yellow with a dancer who looks like James Corden.

Absolutely love Ukraine - highly original, clever, interesting. Kate Bush must be sooo jealous.

Norway not bad either; what is frightening, as a Brit, is how much better almost every other country is at making music. I blame the current crop of this Century's UK music executives.

Several friends love the Italian entry; I don't like it (no melody).

Sweden is a bit Formula Pop - like James Newman but ten times better.

Actually thought Flo Rida really worked for San Marino making a great finale.

OK JK's thoughts.

WINNER - France
Biggest star and best performance - the MALTA girl.
Cleverest entry - UKRAINE.

But what a great show - spreading happiness and colour and enthusiasm.

And how sad, the decline of the UK. No wonder we voted for Brexit. No wonder we have one of the biggest death toll for Covid. No wonder we voted for Boris as PM.
We have lost the plot.

So far (first half) I think it’s been ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT! Sets, pace, songs, filming the best I can remember. I’ve fallen in love with the Portugal entry. Expect Malta will do very well. Liked Italy, Israel, Iceland, Lithuania and the gorgeous French girl who couldn’t come from anywhere in the world. But that Portugal entry is my ear worm of the night

Listening to the 2019 winner - I would never have predicted that.

United Kingdom gets null points, completely deserved, worse than Jemini. I hope that France wins over that terrible Swiss song, but either way in a weeks time we will completely forgotten all of these songs.

Terrible voting system all votes displayed on screen at one, except the 12, which removes all the tension and excitement. The professional juries copmletely blown away by the public vote.

I didn't like Italy or Switzerland - surprised that France only came second but a pretty good showing. And isn't the answer - the British Music Industry is close to dead.

What a shambles, terrible song winning the competition. Never trust the public. 3 of ths so called big 5 Uk, Spain, and Germany finish in the bottom 3. Who would have thought that a fat northern lad would finish below sexy, glamorous Europeans. I say forget the public vote. You can't rely on drunk people at home to decide the winner.
