Easy for you, perhaps, but not so for others. Women alone , for instance definitely do not need to be staring at their phone in a car park.

That's the whole point- security! You don't have to stare at your phone - you just press the three buttons in the privacy of your own car. Eliminating the need to find, visit and return from a parking meter - after funding it publicly.

I don't know why you think Barney lives in a bedsit, or what would be wrong if he did? Three cheers for anyone who can cope with it.

People don't seem to sit in the car doing their phone parking thingy. They do it while they walk. Maybe they have changed it now, but in a car park we occasionally use, you have to go to the ticket machine to get a code or something to put into your phone.
I remember advising MrHoney to snigger more quietly if he wanted to avoid somebody thumping him.

True.

But one aspect that can get lost is that as the tech ever increases so will the efforts of the banks etc to use it to prevent fraud.

Let's face it the potential.for fraud on cards has been there for a long time now, but mostly we get along fine...

credit card fraud has always been ginormas compared to what's in the news..according to my nephew who works in a credit agency

Wait until 15 minute cities are in place, all car parks will be land for flats and houses. No car park for you!

I am sure some towns across the West Country have started doing the 15 minute cities.

This journo is talking wet like they all do. Almost every journo is London-Centric. No way would I live in a congested city again. I lived in NYC for nearly 10 years when I younger.

Now I am surrounded by nature and protective land.

Well spotted - a flaw! Every ticket machine has a unique code pasted on the site, and that has to be inserted into your phone when paying. A bit of a pain when using a new car park. However the app stores all the codes for machines you've used - making the weekly shop easier.

It can only be about restricting movement, because most of us are already only 15 minutes or less from everything on the list.

What is the problem with 15 min cities? Sound sensible to me. One of the best aspects of holidays at Centre Parcs is the total lack of bloody cars everywhere for a week; bliss...

Do you leave Surrey at all?

For my job Wyot I have to travel across 3 counties daily just to drop off booze to restaurants and bars.

I can't wait to retire and leave wretched Britain what's Great about it? Ireland is not what it was either.

Each to their own, I hate touristy cities and towns. Further from civilization the better for me.

Slovenia is gorgeous in the Winter.
