JK at the Leveson Inquiry PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 25 January 2012
Firstly, I was impressed by the building; the Royal Courts of Justice are most impressive.

Second - I really liked Lord Justice Leveson. I give him the Oscar for Best Eyebrows. He has an intelligent twinkle which I found sympathetic and honest.

I was asked to put forward the reasons for my being considered a Core Participant Victim as well as a witness to the relationship between the media and the police - an area about which I have had great experience.

You can watch my brief appearance between 38 minutes and 43 minutes during the Wednesday afternoon session if you visit the Leveson website.

I was rejected as a Core Participant Victim but may well provide further and more specific evidence as a witness.

Lord Justice Leveson made it clear he had perused my submissions in detail and accepted my position that I had suffered a gross miscarriage of justice. Whether I will ever have that confirmed by the courts is another question, but the experience of the arrest, trial, conviction and appeals alone provided me with an amazing insight to the process and relationship between the media, police and judicial system.

It was fascinating seeing the room and meeting the contributors to the Inquiry.
