I always try to read all 6 Booker Prize finalists and not only loved the novel over a decade ago but predicted it would win. It did.

The film is absolutely spectacular; Richard Parker should have been nominated for Best Actor (you need to know the story to appreciate that comment).

It makes great use of 3D. It looks unbelievable. I thoroughly enjoyed it but not as much as the novel; which I read so long ago I'd forgotten how much I loved it and I'm sure was fairly different from the film.

I'm very biased as TIGERS are my favourite animals. There are some effects which are totally outstanding.
