Dunkirk 6 Years, 8 Months ago
Fabulous - I thought the music and sound effects deserve the Oscar in 2018. But the whole film was very different; put together in a clever and original way which absolutely captured the drama and panic. Rylance is SO good; the best under actor in the world. He expresses more when still and saying nothing than anyone else. Interesting; the old art of acting (theatre) was ham and over the top so people in the back stalls could hear, see and understand. New acting has changed. Films, TV, internet - the key is say nothing, do nothing, convey with the eyes only.

I was hoping to enjoy this film but found it very disappointing. There was no continuity - it was nighttime in a sinking boat then it was daytime in a plane. The only interesting character was ridiculously killed off falling down a flight of stairs. By the time Tom Hardy managed to land his plane everyone was back in Weymouth. The music was Elgar ruined and why was there a sound of a ticking clock all the time?

A really interesting article on Dunkirk and what it meant; how the defeat was actually a victory that turned the war.
