Liam Neeson brilliant and brave 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
However I fear his honesty will conflict with society's need to simplify and de-compexify issues and he will suffer. We really have become a black and white society; missing both shades of grey and colours.

twas the mention of colour that got him some great publicity for his new film....must have got his publicity training from the twat at Ryanair....I'm just making the point about his film....had that not have been the case then I would have agreed with you far more Doctor King.

It doesn't seem to have struck Gary that this was decades ago and thank God times have changed, as Liam's account explains.

in fact a very stupid article whereby Neeson's entire point went right over Gary's head.

Neeson was basically telling how, decades ago, he too was easily influenced by the media who repeatedly push memes of racism to the point, Liam Neeson was almost encouraged into acting upon a racist thought that lingered in the back of his head.

The media cherry-pick the bits they want to hear and ignore his regret.

They are also incredibly dishonest because in doing so they pretend that they, while in an industry that deliberately stokes racism when needed ( Labour's alleged antisemitism..Muslim Sharia Law coming to a court near you) they pretend they are immune from it.

Honest man,or cheap publicity?
Whatever the real truth may be the release of your new film was not the time to make this statement....people will obviously link the two together...

'Liam Neeson film premiere appearance is CANCELLED as he insists he is not racist after furore over his 'primal urge' to 'murder a black b*****d' when his friend was raped'

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6671555...-kill-black-man.html

'Sorry Liam Neeson, but if you talk like a murderous racist, behave like a murderous racist, and now cynically use your murderous racism to sell a movie... then you’re guilty of being a murderous racist'

But why can nobody seem to take in that this was years ago; times were different; he was different. It's the same old thing about condemning someone for events of decades ago. Yes; 50 years ago there were awful attitudes and behaviour. Yes; thank heavens society and individuals have changed (#MeToo).

Piers Morgan can't talk. There are now about 100 hacking civil cases still being settled by various tabloids.

Most are being settled on the court room steps and plaintiffs are receiving big damages.

While hacking may not be the most shocking crime..it's a crime and it was on an organized level sanctioned from the top.

The useless Met are ignoring what is still evidence of 100s of crimes now being revealed.

Piers Morgan was boss at The Mirror when all this happened.

I'm well qualified to judge things in 'historical context' Doctor King...and I understand fully it is right to bring these things out in the open....but is the time right to do this when he is promoting his latest film?....It does seem to have got the publicity....but will it backfire?..

....I'm not making any judgements myself....just pointing out the facts, and how they may come across to others....

Wrong way around - he was doing the interview promoting the film and mentioned it in passing as an example of how wrong it was and how things have changed for the better. But, like media, far better to assume the contrary. Better story.
