Freddie Starr 76 RIP 4 Years, 11 Months ago
RIP Freddie Starr 76 another victim of the False Allegations Industry. As predicted 20 years ago, this situation, encouraging liars, bent cops and greedy lawyers, will kill hundreds, ruin thousands and make criminals millions.

I hope his accuser sleeps well. I expect she does.

There is a bizarre schizophrenia that permeates the (ghastly) British media : while a'moaning and a'groaning about the plight of pensioners, old men are now seen to be expendable and even guilty of something because they are old and especially if they were once a Celebrity!

Why would you even think of accusing Freddie?

Vale Freddie Starr..You too will sit beside Jesus today and so will your hamster.

I agree with Hedda. The death sentence seems to have been smuggled back in for older celebs. Look at Woody Allen - never been charged with anything, but the Farrows keep on until his movie contract is binned. Satisfied? Nope. Then hardly anyone will work with him. Still the Farrows keep up the campaign. His memoirs are rejected by publishers. Still the Farrows aren't satisfied. They basically won't let up until they've killed the man. Look at Rolf Harris: he's served his sentence, but still the media hunt him, appalled that the man might smile, or be admitted to a restaurant, or walk past a school. How dare he! How dare these people not do the 'decent' thing and die.The false claims industry is bad enough, but their idea of justice is absolutely medieval.

Very sad day.

Sadly I believe the false accusations killed him.

Even the media try to believe the accusations on GMB.

He was 76, massively overweight with a history of heart problems, you can't say that this was due to 'false" allegations. He should be relieved that he got off lightly with the unproven allegations. He lied about even appearing on the clunk click show, this wouldn't have looked good in court.

Each to their own Robbie but I totally disagree. If you could even imagine the stress puts on the heart - and promotes compensation eating, drinking and weight gain.

Have to agree he looked great before the allegations started then ballooned up in size. Question for King. Did you ever meet him at a Joe Meek session ?

Even Jim Davidson looked extremely ill when he under investigation.

He went downhill very rapidly after the false allegations, and they WERE false.
Please check the details and the history of the accuser if you are not sure.

I dont know why you assume it is a lie if someone doesnt remember a job they had forty-five years ago.
Do you remember every single day of your work?
I dont.

I saw some fool saying that Starr lied about meeting the accuser and then a photo was shown with them together.... except she was BEHIND HIM!

If I was on national prime time television show, then I would remember. How do you know that they were false. You are quite happy to accept that because the accuser lied about her age, then everything else that she said was a lie, but Starr lies about been on a prime time tv show, then that is ok. The allegations were 5 years ago now, so I don't think that you can blame them. It may be the stress of been dumped by his much younger wife, or that he was quite old, had a history of heart problems (before yewtree), and was grossly overweight, and his career was going downhill because his brand of 'comedy just isn't in-vogue anymore.

My sister, has to remind me all the time when we met Bros in the mid 80s. (Whatever year it was)

I don't even remember the night because I was plastered. I know we went because we have ticket stubs.

I don't remember every customer who stepped in my pub or what their drinks were.

YOU would remember being on a prime time tv show Robbie, because presumably it is not something you do very often.
For someone like Freddie Starr, it is humdrum.

It is of course possible that his health may have deteriorated anyway, but I am sure being accused of something horrible that finishes your career cant help very much.
The effect of long term stress on health is well known.

I think I have mentioned this before, but there is a video somewhere of me horsing around with Bono, who I could have sworn I had never met beyond being in the same room and possibly saying hello.

Did he lie or did he forget? It's also worth remembering that the person who accused him served time in jail for a crime of dishonesty: writing cheques that she didn't have the funds to cover (source). According to this report, the allegations "broke him" and people close to him said that he never recovered.
