in The Times.

When you read about the dirty tricks and dodgy behaviour used by police and prosecutors, you get a good idea of the truth about Miscarriages of Justice.

I remember reading about this case, and remember distinctly saying out loud 'I bet there's more to this case than meets the eye.' I thought it a little premature that shortly after the incident the press were describing Langley as a veritable 'saint' who wouldn't hurt a fly. So now we can await for the tabloids to tell how it really was? Ah, thought not!

It is a good point which I agree with but the article slips towards the very thing they condemn.

"She said: '...a so-called friend of Boris Johnson

Actually Zoo that's what (unintentionally) is important.

Let's face it, the Times is a tabloid now and this is very tabloid mentality yet still they are almost openly saying "police and CPS are corrupt".

Check the reader comments below the piece.

The tide is turning. The tabloids are starting to notice. All it needs is that nudge towards the obvious - "perhaps not all innocent people get off"... and they could even put 2 and 2 together.

This whole Lawyer thing...

"...the lawyer asked her if she loved her son 'in the knowledge that he kicked a man to death'."

Is this adversarial system really the best system?

It brings to mind another case - if the lawyer says "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury it is for you to decide if this a man or a MONSTER"...

How can the fellow in the dock counter that, an emotive claim can stick in the mind more than a prosaic reasoned explanation.

Sorry to creep off-topic but something is very wrong with the whole system.

Believe me Zoo her points are not only well made and sensible but frighteningly accurate.

For example, I was told (and told all my kind character witnesses) there would be no cross examination or questioning.
Then, to my (and his) dismay, the loathsome prosecutor (who had hair all over his body which he scratched like a gorilla) snarled at one fine and upstanding celebrity who had just been saying what a decent guy I was... "Did you know your FRIEND took little boys back to his house and buggered them?".

I couldn't shout "No I Didn't!" and though the Judge did stop him there, the damage was done.
