It is so hard to know how much of these stories is exageration isn't it?
I am sure there is some truth though. Give powers out and some will always get excited and over zealous and abuse them. These powers won't be retracted.
It is how and when they are used again that is important.
Will the Gov continue to over react to red herring threats in the future? Will they start to see control as a way to re-election; as a traumatised nation continues to expect the Gov to protect them from everything, when it can't?

You did well to speak to them at all, Green Man.
When I told them that if I bought my property back would I be in trouble for receiving stolen goods ?
The police won’t tackle leftist groups like BLM or Extinction Rebellion but are happy to arrest those who are conservative.
You can tear down statues and police won’t do nothing in case they are dubbed racists.
When reporting a home burglary, it's essential to say that you believe the perpetrators to be still on your premises (because you can hear them!) - as only then, will you have any hope of the police coming out.

I think this would be an awful thing to do.
While the police are bombarded with false claims of burglars on the premises they will not treat it urgently, leaving people who are telling the truth ignored and in terrible danger.
Yep! Staged, although it looks like the police were not part of the act.
How tiresome. The police don't need encouraging and the public don't need to be more scared than they already are.
