It reminds me of the Democrats whinging about the unfair voting system for four years until it went in their favour and became infallible.
I don't think they complained about the body prior. I think this goes beyond a self interested party political reaction. They really believe that if something doesn't fit with their world-view it is wrong. If you dare to question why the report should be questioned you are now likely to be labelled a racist.
The definition of a racist, it seems to me, gets broader all the time. They would call it greater understanding of the issue, and perhaps it partly is; but I think it is also distorting meaning & reality to signal virtue and the risk is that the word (and so concept) of a racist will be devalued & normalised.
This would be a tragedy because real racism is an evil to be battled everywhere.
